How do you calculate the real estate commission for short seasonal leases?
Seasonal leases are mostly calculated based on a percentage of the commission applied to the total income obtained during the time the property is rented. For our area is customary to charge 10% full commission for the leased time of the property. In few words, if you rent a property for 3 months at $2,000.00 per month, then your full commission would be $600.00. This is calculated as: $2000.00 x 3 (months) x 0.10 (10% commission)= $600.00.
Now, be aware that this is the full commission, which includes the listing and selling commission. If you need to calculate only one side, then multiply by 0.5 (5%)
